Description:

Bridging the Gap: Working together to tackle invasive non-native species in Europe

The INTERREG 2 Seas Programme Authorities, along with the SEFINS partnership, have the pleasure to invite you to our free event focussing on the effective management of invasive non-native species in Europe.

On 24 September 2014 at OPEN, Bank Plain, Norwich.

This is a unique opportunity to hear international experts from a range of fields relating to the management of invasive species sharing their knowledge. The event will focus on ‘Bridging the Gap' - both between research, policy and action but also in an important, but overlooked, habitat - the estuarine environment. It will cover a wide variety of ‘hot' topics such as risk management, knowledge transfer and citizen science. It will also include interactive Workshops to discuss how we can better tackle the challenge of invasive species in estuaries.

SEFINS is a ‘cluster' project bringing together key partners from the RINSE and MEMO projects to exchange knowledge and capitalise on the ground-breaking work already carried out by these projects.

This event is aimed at scientists, policy makers, elected representatives and other key stakeholders with an interest in the appropriate management of invasive non-native species.
This is a European conference and we will provide simultaneous French and Dutch translations for all presentations.

Participation is FREE.

The Programme and details are online. To stay up to date with information please see www.sefins.eu.
This event follows the RINSE Closing conference, which you are also welcome to attend. This is being held on 23 September at the same venue and is also a free event. Please see www.rinse.eu for further details.

This event is part of the EC DAY 2014 (www.ecday.eu)
