The Interreg 2 Seas Programme authorities and the BERISUAS cluster partners have the pleasure to invite you to the conference; "How can UAVs be used for better response and improved safety at sea?"
The Channel, the North Sea and the river Scheldt are notorious for their busy shipping lanes. Every day, hundreds of vessels navigate through these, sometimes tricky, waters. With radar and excellent communication tools, this traffic is guided safely along the coasts. On the other hand, recent accidents, such as the ones involving the Costa Concordia in Italy and the Rena in New Zealand, show that things can go wrong, with disastrous consequences.
The acronym BERISUAS stands for Better Response and Improved Safety trough Unmanned Aircraft Systems. BERISUAS is a crossborder cooperation between partners that were previously involved in the MIRG and 3I projects. The goal of this joint opportunity is to capitalize and solve a common challenge; How can UAVs be used for better response and improved safety at sea?
